Theme: “Unraveling the Dynamics: Exploring the Plight of the Golden Child”

Welcome to an insightful and reflective workshop where we delve into the intricate dynamics surrounding the often-overlooked role of the golden child within family systems.

This is the child who is loaded with responsibilities!
This is the child that comes after many miscarriages; perhaps after many girls, this is the boy!
This is the only child, and his mother takes him as a partner because she is unhappy in her marriage.
This is the child who is never blamed, never scolded, “the chosen one”; his system has chosen him to be like that, at a very very very high price, the price is of his freedom; this child gave his liberty away in the name of loyalty!
This child is loyal to his system; they are faithful to whatever duty has been given to them, already in their mother’s womb; in my case, “You gonna be better than your father!”
This is the child who is loaded with responsibilities that are almost always impossible to be fulfilled, however, they are his drive.
The “golden child” is treated as a little prince and princess by their family members, who know which systemic burden has been placed on them.
Siblings are often jealous of “the golden child” as they are unaware of the weight that the child is carrying.
This is the child that comes from the new marriage, as the children from the previous marriage, the one that failed, are often associated with that failure.

Join us as we embark on a journey of understanding, compassion, and healing, shedding light on the multifaceted experiences of individuals who have been thrust into this complex role.

In this workshop, we will explore the origins and implications of the golden child phenomenon within the context of family systems theory. Through a blend of interactive discussions, group activities, and experiential exercises, participants will gain a deeper understanding of the dynamics at play, the impact on individual development, and the broader ramifications for familial relationships.

Our expert facilitators will guide participants in:

  1. Identifying the characteristics and traits commonly associated with the golden child archetype.
  2. Examining the underlying family dynamics and systemic patterns that contribute to the creation and maintenance of the golden child role.
  3. Exploring the psychological and emotional effects of being the golden child, including the pressure to meet unrealistic expectations and the struggle to develop a sense of self outside of this role.
  4. Sharing personal experiences and insights in a safe and supportive environment, fostering empathy and validation among participants.
  5. Reflecting on strategies for coping with the challenges associated with the golden child role and initiating the journey towards healing and self-discovery.

By the end of the workshop, participants will have gained valuable insights into the complexities of the golden child dynamic and acquired practical tools for navigating their own experiences or supporting others in similar situations. Together, we will unravel the layers of this intricate phenomenon and cultivate a deeper understanding of the human experience within the context of family relationships.

What is an online systemic workshop?

A systemic online workshop based on Family Constellations is a virtual event designed to explore and address the hidden dynamics within a person’s family system that may be influencing their behavior, relationships, and emotional well-being. Family Constellations, a therapeutic approach developed by Bert Hellinger, involves uncovering and understanding the often unconscious, entangled relationships within families and how these can affect the current generation.

In our systemic online workshop focusing on this method, participants engage in our monthly lecture on different systemic topics and activities facilitated by Tiziano, aimed at revealing these underlying family dynamics.
Our online systemic workshop is recorder through Zoom and available to participate LIVE or watched deferred.

The workshop typically includes:

  • Lecture on monthly systemic topic.
  • Individual sharing and questions regarding the topic presented.
  • Resolutions and movements through exercises and guided constellations.
  • Sharing and integration, participants can share their experience and ask clarification if any doubts raised.

Advantages of our online format include the ability to connect with facilitators and participants globally, the convenience of participating from home and watch it at your time of convenience, and sometimes a greater feeling of safety or anonymity that can facilitate openness. However, the effectiveness of online workshops is nothing less than in-person!

Overall, a systemic online workshop based on Family Constellations offers a unique and powerful way to explore and address deep-seated family issues, with the ultimate goal of healing, learning and harmonising life.

* Recordings of each monthly online event will be available on the website approx. 7 days after the event date. Available for (1) event attendees who bought a ticket to this specific event, (2) for monthly ‘active’ systemic members, and (3) for people who would like to purchase access to this workshop after the recording is uploaded to the website. In this way everyone benefits.
